Materials You'll Need:

  • Worsted weight yarn in pink, white, and black
  • Knitting needles in size US 8 (5mm)
  • Tapestry needle
  • Stuffing material
  • Black embroidery thread

Step-by-Step Knitting Instructions:

Body:

Using pink yarn, cast on 36 stitches.
Rows 1-14: Knit all stitches.
Row 15: Knit 12 stitches, cast on 6 stitches, knit 18 stitches.
Rows 16-28: Knit all stitches.
Row 29: Knit 6 stitches, cast off 6 stitches, knit 30 stitches.
Rows 30-42: Knit all stitches.
Shape the snout:
Row 43: Knit 6 stitches, knit 2 together, knit 10 stitches, knit 2 together, knit 18 stitches.
Row 44: Knit 6 stitches, knit 2 together, knit 8 stitches, knit 2 together, knit 18 stitches.
Row 45: Bind off 6 stitches, knit 26 stitches, bind off 6 stitches.
Row 46: Knit 10 stitches, bind off 6 stitches, knit 10 stitches.
Bind off all remaining stitches.

Ears:

Using pink yarn, cast on 6 stitches.
Rows 1-4: Knit all stitches.
Row 5: Knit 2 stitches, knit 2 together, knit 2 stitches.
Rows 6-7: Knit all stitches.
Bind off all stitches.

Repeat for the second ear.

Tail:

Using pink yarn, cast on 12 stitches.
Rows 1-4: Knit all stitches.
Row 5: Knit 2 stitches, knit 2 together, knit 8 stitches.
Rows 6-10: Knit all stitches.
Bind off all stitches.

Legs:

Using pink yarn, cast on 10 stitches.
Rows 1-12: Knit all stitches.
Bind off all stitches.

Repeat for the second leg.

Assembly:

Sew the ears to the top of the head.

Embroider the eyes and nostrils using black embroidery thread.

Sew the tail to the back of the body.

Sew the legs to the bottom of the body.

If desired, cut out a small heart shape from pink felt and sew it to the chest.

Stuff the pig firmly with stuffing material.
